As enigmáticas facetas genéticas, inflamatórias e ambientais e do transtorno bipolar: uma revisão integrativa

Resumo

Com o objetivo de demonstrar os fatores que influem direta e indiretamente na etiologia do Transtorno Bipolar (TB), usando da estratégia PICO, foram utilizados 22 artigos com diferentes abordagens sobre a gênese do TB, dos quais abordavam o ponto de vista genético, biológico e ambiental que poderiam influir sobre o indivíduo. Essas influências se entrelaçam umas às outras, tendo em vista que essa patologia possui uma herdabilidade importante, decorrente da confluência de vários fatores, inclusive da demora em se ter o diagnóstico e, portanto, o tratamento devido. Entretanto, o fato de muitos dos estudos realizados, do ponto de vista genético, utilizarem de modelos animais, coloca em dúvida a validade de alguns argumentos, denotando ainda a necessidade de estudos mais amplos na área. Contudo os dados observacionais coletados em bases humanas permanecem contundentes, sendo possível o estabelecimento de fatores de risco, dos quais ativam mecanismos epigenéticos que têm relação importante com o desenvolvimento do TB.
