Revascularização pulpar como alternativa às terapias de apicificação comumente aplicadas a dentes jovens com raízes incompletas

Resumo

Diante de casos em que o elemento dental se apresenta com a raiz ainda em formação, o cirurgião-dentista dispõe de algumas alternativas para indução do fechamento apical. O uso das técnicas para apicificação com MTA e hidróxido de cálcio foram sugeridas por anos, e o prognóstico ao realizar essa terapia é muito promissor. Em contrapartida, dentes que apresentam paredes frágeis e uma proporção coroa-raiz inadequada mesmo quando induzido o fechamento apical, possuem um prognóstico duvidoso, já que não tem estrutura suficiente para suportar as forças intrínsecas da mastigação. Com os problemas apresentados, este trabalho objetivou-se apresentar uma revisão de literatura detalhando a técnica de revascularização, bem como citar um apanhado de casos clínicos que comprovam a efetividade dessa terapia para o tratamento de dentes jovens que não apresentam o completo desenvolvimento radicular. Para isso, foram realizadas pesquisas na plataforma PubMed para estudos publicados no período de 2020 a 2022 utilizando os termos em inglês: pulp, revascularization, case e report. Diante dos resultados coletados, a revascularização pulpar é uma boa alternativa aos tratamentos convencionais de apicificação, devendo ser executada principalmente em casos onde não há espessura e comprimento adequado da raiz.
