This study was development to analyze the use of recreational activities to pedagogical intervention in basic education after low performance of students in diagnostic evaluation. Were applied practical activities such as games and bingo with 47 students between 13 and 14 years old. For those, were evaluated three abilities associated to earth layers, cells and chemical reactions. Before the pedagogical intervention was realized the content review of each ability. After the pedagogical intervention we did not found any statistical differences between the number of correct answers in the four students groups (χ2(3)= 5.523; p<0.137). However, when comparing the pre and post-intervention we found that in the first evaluation no student got any correct answers in the questionnaire. Therefore the development of the recreational activities was important for the students learning in this research. In addition, we found a similarity between the type of question answered correctly by the students. According to the Jaccard similarity index, the questions about cells and earth layers are more similar to each other, when compared to the question about chemical reactions. In general, the pedagogical intervention was favorable for the development of the three abilities analyzed here, however, more efforts are necessary to solve the students difficulties about chemical reactions.
