Resumo

Atualmente, a administração de medicamentos antirreabsortivos para o tratamento de diversas doenças relacionadas ao tecido ósseo vem aumentando. No entanto, também podem desencadear complicações às quais nós, como profissionais de saúde, devemos estar atentos. Hoje em dia existe muita informação sobre o assunto, por isso é importante que tenhamos informações mais relevantes e concretas e de fácil compreensão para um médico dentista generalista detetar precocemente esta afetação, avaliando os riscos e benefícios que tais tratamentos implicam, o objetivo desta revisão é fazer uma síntese compreensível dos aspectos mais importantes da osteonecrose da mandíbula relacionados com drogas anti-reabsortivas e os cuidados a ter em conta. Uma busca minuciosa foi realizada em diferentes bases de dados: Pubmed, EBSCO, Science Direct, Scopus, Scielo. Sendo incluídos 27 artigos de 2019, 1 artigo base, 1 guia clínico e 1 livro para a presente revisão. A osteonecrose é uma complicação que pode surgir após a administração de drogas antirreabsortivas como bisfosnatos e denosumad utilizadas no tratamento de doenças ósseas. Aqueles administrados por via intravenosa têm sido relatados principalmente com o desenvolvimento dessa complicação, dentre os fatores de risco locais desencadeantes as extrações predominam. A abordagem multidisciplinar é essencial para o reconhecimento precoce de pacientes predisponentes, fornecendo cuidados oportunos e preventivos para reduzir a gravidade dessa complicação.
