Formação da Identidade no Esporte: Uma revisão sistemática

Resumo

O objetivo do presente estudo foi conduzir uma revisão sistemática da literatura sobre a formação da identidade em atletas, incluindo estudos de 1978 a 2014. Um total de 121 estudos foram avaliados e reportados em três seções: características metodológicas dos estudos, variáveis associadas à identidade e principais suportes teóricos. As amostras dos estudos variaram de um a 2000 participantes. Os estudos compreenderam uma amplitude de níveis competitivos e modalidades, em sexos diferentes e variados métodos de pesquisa. Variáveis associadas à identidade foram categorizadas: questões demográficas, atmosfera moral, suporte psicossocial, problemas de saúde/lesões, controle da vida, status educacional, auto-percepção, motivação, desenvolvimento pessoal/carreira, compromisso com o esporte, atitudes alimentares, estratégias de enfrentamento, aposentadoria e burnout. O estado atual da área de estudo, limitações e sugestões para prática e futuras pesquisas foram discutidas.
