The present study aims to present an integrative review on nursing care for patients with traumatic brain injury. To prepare this research, the following question was used. "What is the importance of nurses' assistance to patients suffering from traumatic brain injury?". This is an integrative literature review, from June to July 2021, through a survey of scientific production in the SCOPUS (Elsevier), PubMed and Web Of Science databases. 66 studies were found in SCOPUS; 58 in PubMed and 10 in Web of Science, totaling 134 articles, of which 20 were included only once in the analysis due to their duplicity, with 114 articles for analysis. After the exclusion criteria, 10 articles were revealed in the findings. In view of the survey of the studies, it was possible to observe that the synchronous, immediate and recommended nursing reception improves the care itself, becoming essential and indispensable to avoid complications and degenerative evolutions of sequelae and instabilities in the victim, and this service is proven to be effective. However, the need for periodic preparation for these professionals, in order to remedy the relevance of unpreparedness on the subject, in addition to prioritizing the systematization of patient care.
