Pandemia de Covid-19 y su impacto en estudiantes de medicina en Maceió, Alagoas, Nordeste de Brasil

Resumen

Objetivo: Evaluar el impacto generado por la pandemia del Covid-19 en la vida de los estudiantes de medicina de Alagoas, además de investigar el nivel de conocimiento de los estudiantes en relación a la pandemia generada por el nuevo coronavirus. Métodos: Esta fue una investigación descriptiva y transversal, que utilizó los medios electrónicos (WhatsApp) para enviar los cuestionarios a los estudiantes, que contenían preguntas relacionadas con la salud física y mental y el conocimiento sobre el coronavirus. El estudio fue aprobado por el Comité de Ética en Investigación. Resultados: La encuesta fue respondida por 243 estudiantes del Estado de Alagoas, distribuidos en las cuatro instituciones de enseñanza médica de la capital. Hubo informes de cambios negativos en el sueño, la alimentación y la concentración durante el período pandémico. Solo 10 (4,11%) estudiantes reportaron no tener ansiedad y solo 7 (2,9%) dijeron no estar preocupados por la pandemia. También se notó que a pesar de los sentimientos negativos predominantes, los estudiantes afirmaron tener conocimientos sobre el nuevo coronavirus y están actualizados sobre el virus. Conclusión: los sentimientos negativos generados durante la pandemia pueden contribuir negativamente a la formación médica, requiriendo tales facultades reflexionar sobre la formación de médicos en Alagoas.
