Queratoquiste odontogénico:tratamento con la solución de Carnoy – Revisión de la literatura

El Queratoquiste Odontogénico (QO) es una lesión conocida por su alta tasa de recurrencia y su capacidad de infiltración en tejidos locales en la región maxilar. Objetivo: Analizar la eficacia de la solución de Carnoy como terapia coadyuvante para la enucleación del QO, con el objetivo de proporcionar información actualizada para académicos y profesionales en el campo. Metodología: Se realizó una revisión de la literatura utilizando artículos científicos disponibles en la Biblioteca Virtual en Salud (BVS) y PubMed, publicados entre 2016 y 2023, que abordan el uso de la solución de Carnoy como tratamiento coadyuvante para el QO. Discusión: Hay estudios que han indicado resultados prometedores con el uso de la solución de Carnoy como terapia coadyuvante para el QO en conjunto con la técnica quirúrgica recomendada. Conclusión: Esta investigación proporciona una visión integral del uso de la solución de Carnoy como terapia coadyuvante en el tratamiento del queratoquiste odontogénico, destacando su accesibilidad y costo relativamente bajo, lo que la convierte en una opción atractiva para cirujanos orales en diversas configuraciones clínicas.
