Protocolos de irrigação final em endodontia: Uma revisão narrativa

Este estudo consiste em uma revisão narrativa de literatura com o objetivo de analisar os diferentes protocolos de irrigação final utilizados na endodontia contemporânea, destacando suas características, vantagens e limitações. Trata-se de uma revisão qualitativa, retrospectiva e descritiva, realizada por meio de buscas nas bases de dados PubMed, LILACS e SciELO, com artigos publicados em português e inglês. Foram identificadas e comparadas sete técnicas de irrigação: Irrigação Convencional (IC), Ativação Dinâmica Manual (MDA), Irrigação Ultrassônica Passiva (PUI), Irrigação Ultrassônica Contínua (CUI), Ativação EasyClean (ECA), XP Endo Finisher e Irrigação Sônica. Observou-se que a IC apresenta limitações na remoção da smear layer e na desinfecção completa dos canais. A MDA, embora eficiente, pode promover a impregnação de debris. As técnicas ultrassônicas mostraram maior eficácia na remoção de detritos, porém com potencial risco de danos aos tecidos. A irrigação sônica e a ativação EasyClean destacaram-se pela eficiência e menor risco aos tecidos periapicais. Conclui-se que ECA e XP Endo Finisher são alternativas promissoras, sendo a escolha da técnica dependente da individualidade clínica. A constante atualização sobre os protocolos de irrigação, embasada em evidências, é essencial para o avanço da endodontia e a segurança do paciente.
